History

Founding of the Paul Wegner Industrial Knife Factory in Hagen by master locksmith Paul Wegner.

Birth of son and future company owner Horst Wegner.

World War II – The factory was fortunately spared from the devastating Allied bombing raids. Production still takes place today in the venerable manufacturing hall from the company’s founding years.

Son Horst Wegner joins the active operations of the industrial knife factory.

Birth of first son Harald Wegner.

Birth of second son Thomas Wegner.

Death of company founder Paul Wegner at the age of 89.

The second-born son, Thomas Wegner, takes over the management of the company from his father. Harald Wegner follows him in 1989. From this point on, the company is managed by the third generation.

Change of company name from Paul Wegner KG to Paul Wegner GmbH & Co. KG.

Birth of Jan-Paul Wegner (son of Thomas Wegner).

Death of company owner Horst Wegner at the age of 76.
